A beautiful sleepytime tonic to drift you into a serene night’s sleep.

If your parents ever gave you a cup of warm milk before bed, this drink is totally reminiscent of that. In fact, this moon milk was inspired by the Italian tradition of warm milk before bed and leveled up by the Los Angeles embrace of adaptogens. It’s gentle, comforting, warming and oh so very soothing.
Now, we don’t want you to think that this moon milk is a liquid benadryl, because it’s not. Rather, think of it as a gentle sleep aid, helping to calm you down and soothe you into a relaxed, sleepy state so you can drift off peacefully. No crash, no groggy morning state. Sounds pretty good, right?
We love to whisk one up about an hour or so before bed while we’re starting to wind down. The idea is to already be in a somewhat calm state when sipping on this the moon milk so you can enjoy it to the fullest.
The fat from the almond milk helps with the absorption of the Reishi adaptogen so you can get the most nutritional benefit from it in addition to a restful sleep.
Unfamiliar with Reishi or adaptogens? –Adaptogens are a class of herbs and plants that are used to help your body naturally adapt to stress and help bring you more balance. There are many different ones, but we use Reishi for our moon milk. Reishi is a mushroom powder that helps promote tranquility and centeredness while relieving stress. It’s actually one of the most coveted adaptogens in traditional Chinese medicine.
If you’re uncomfortable with the idea of using an adaptogen, then just omit the Reishi. It’s totally optional, and the moon milk will still taste delicious and help calm you before bed if you choose to leave it out.
